In 2014, I was invited to a large outdoor dinner party at what was to become the longest continuous garden project of my career.

The owners wanted me to experience how they will use their new garden-to-be, while getting to know each other better. Friends, family and outdoor activities were a high priority.

The terrain of the property changes dramatically from excellent planting conditions to rocky outcroppings making the task of meeting both functionality and design objectives challenging. In the end, this added to the interest.

My clients, well-traveled and great lovers of gardens, wanted theirs to have a sense of mystery, adventure and delight.

   And so, the adventure began.
